It’s a blood red sun turning black on this cold night / His body’s turning blue / It seems he’s lost the fight / He’s been a poisonous snake for fifty odd years / But you’d be a fool not to trust him and his crazy fear
Now as the sun dips beneath the trees / His mouth goes dry / His eyes go blind / He falls through his knees / If the Devil was gonna take him he’d take him now / But Old God had placed his bet that he’d survive somehow
So he sent a great beast to clean him up when he died / A Grizzly Bear with dried blood soaked into his hide / The old snake eyed him down and rose to his feet / The great silver back was sure that he was readying to retreat / But the blood had wound its way back into his hands / This beast would have to kill him alive where he stands / Then God’s man charged and the Devil’s did too / And that blood red sun wasn’t coming back for this crazy moon.
